Always Plan Ahead

If you are like most people, you work hard and then look for good ways to relax when it is time to relax. One great way to relax it to take a little trip, and summer holidays are often much more affordable than you might think. The way you can save money on this is to always plan ahead. Like any holiday, the summer is going to be full of people trying to get to the same places you want to see. Rather than waiting until the last minute, you may want to instead plan ahead, so that you can be ready for whatever is coming.
Look online to the destinations you’ll be reaching. Find the bed and breakfasts, and all the motels and hotels and inns along the way. This way, when you arrive in a new place you can be sure that you are prepared with a place to stay. If you know in advance you are going to be more than one night, you can book it and still have plenty of time to change your mind without penalty. It is really common to visit a town for a specific celebration they hold every year. In a case like this, planning ahead may be the only way that you will actually be able to enjoy the event! For instance, if you want to get a seat and a room for an important football match, waiting until the week of the tournament is going to seriously limit your options. Plan ahead, and see more!

Trends in Student Loans

The soaring cost of college is slowing and the amount of student loans needed to cover it, is dropping, according to College Board, which conducts annual surveys on the matters.
College Board says the price of tuition at four-year, in-state universities went up 2.9 percent, the smallest gain since 1975.  Per student borrowing is down 9 percent over the last three years. Scholarships and grants (free money!) now make up almost half (49 percent) of the aid students receive.
That is a positive trend. Sadly, it is dwarfed by negative trends over the last 10 years.
Student loan debt has soared from $260 billion in 2004 to $1.2 trillion in 2014; average debt jumped from $18,650 to $33,000; and the number of people over 60 with student loan debt tripled to 2.1 million. That group’s share of the debt has skyrocketed from $8 billion to $43 billion and five percent of them are having loan payments deducted from their Social Security checks.
Down the road, economists predict that student loan debt will affect choice of employment and delay home buying, opening a business, and when to get married and have children.

Great Late Night Food in the Lake District and Where to Find it This Summer

The Lake District is famous for many things. Great adventure holidays, historic settlements and interesting architecture, sure, even the Lakes themselves are certainly worthy of note. However, one thing you might not think of when considering the Lake District is food. Though it might make sense that you are more likely to picture waterskiing then you are fantastic cuisine when thinking about the Lake District, this fantastic corner of the United Kingdom has plenty to offer in terms of feed. Yes, cuisine and the Lake District is

definitely worthy of note, and you are more likely to appreciate this if you stay at the world-famous Ellerthwaite Lodge; a hotel which is famous not only for its fantastic grounds, historic building and great service, but fast becoming equally well-known for its late-night food options.

So, what exactly are your late-night food options for bed and breakfast guests at the Ellerthwaite Lodge? I suppose it is important to first consider what you think to be great late-night food. After all, many hotel will be more than happy to fix you up with a sandwich, or something like a toasty or equally small, easy to rustle up for example of basic cuisine. However, with competition as impressive as it is in Windermere, the team behind the scenes at the Ellerthwaite Lodge have clearly put some thought into their selection of cuisine for guests. Yes, it is certainly one hotel where the heating is as important as the sleeping and relaxing. Cuisine which is available right now at the Ellerthwaite Lodge is fast becoming as famous as the building itself, a building which has a rich and varied history having been created at the turn of the last century.

So, what exactly are your options then in terms of great late-night food in the Lake District? As you would imagine from any great hotel, the Ellerthwaite menu changes rather regularly, but that does not mean that the team behind the scenes are not willing to accommodate you in your specific tastes. More often than not, the hotel will have a very limited selection, particularly if you have any specific dietary requirements. It wasn’t long ago, for example, that a vegetarian would struggle to find anything more exciting than a cheese sandwich in any hotel.
